SD72 Brings Holiday Cheer to the Big Truck Parade
The Campbell River School District was once again excited to participate in the annual Big Truck Parade on November 29, a beloved holiday tradition that brings joy to our community. This event is a special opportunity for the district to showcase the creativity and festive spirit of our transportation department.
Each year, our dedicated transportation staff volunteer their time and talent to transform one of our school buses into a dazzling display of holiday magic. Over the course of a week leading up to the parade, the bus is adorned with sparkling lights, garlands, and whimsical decorations.
But the bus isn't just a visual delight — it's also a place for holiday memories. On parade night, school bus drivers and their families, including kids and grandkids, hop on board to enjoy the festivities together. With hot chocolate and treats to share, they enjoy the festive atmosphere as the parade winds along the Island Highway towards Shoppers Row in Campbell River.
The Big Truck Parade is a wonderful way that our transportation department gives back to the community and spreads some holiday cheer. The district is proud to be part of this cherished community event and thanks the transportation team for their time, effort, and holiday spirit. Their hard work and creativity help make this event a highlight of the season for families across Campbell River.
