SD72 Students Shine at Annual Cross-Country Meet
On October 22, students from across the Campbell River School District came together for the highly anticipated cross-country meet, celebrating fitness, perseverance, and community. Held on a cool fall day, the event brought 183 students from grades 3-5 and grades 6-8 to race through the trails at the Sportsplex.
The course, winding through trails and open fields, provided a fun challenge for students of all abilities. Parents, teachers, and peers were at the start and finish line, cheering runners on as they pushed through each stage of the race.
Thank you to the organizer Stephanie Stromquist, volunteers, and school staff who made the day possible, as well as the parents and caregivers who came to support their children and St. Johns' Ambulance who were on standby for first aid support. A special shoutout goes to the student athletes who embodied values of respect, perseverance, and participation throughout the event.
